Students look to the future

Lower Academy students have taken part in a series of interactive lessons designed to help guide them with career choices.

During National Careers Week our students were given the opportunity to use a specialist digital platform from 'Start' to investigate potential career opportunities. By entering personal preferences, students were able to make informed choices about areas of study and future career pathways.

Photos of students holding up a sign with their chosen career were posted on the school’s social media accounts with one notable celebrity showing an interest; “I was amazed when I found out Jamie Oliver had ‘liked’ a photo of me on Twitter. He is my idol and that makes me want to follow my dream of being a chef even more.” Freddie Coulson – Year 7

“It was great to discover student’s career aspirations ranging from Astronauts, Engineers, Teachers and Doctors. Students will be taking part in further sessions throughout the year.” Miss Charman - Assistant Head – Careers & Inclusion
