Data Manager

We wish to appoint a Data Manager to join our Upper Academy.

Salary Range: Band 6 FTE £41,113- £45,348. Actual starting salary is £34,854 with performance based yearly increments

Working Hours/Weeks: 8am - 3.30pm Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week, 41 Weeks (Term time plus 2 weeks)

The Data Manager is responsible for the Basildon Academies data systems, including its Management Information System (MIS) Bromcom. The Data Manager will oversee all aspects of data collection, data input, data analysis and reporting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the MIS, the timely input of all data relating to staff and students and the development of the system to support teaching and learning and administration. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support maintenance of the school management systems, offering support and training for teachers and support staff
  • Planning, writing and maintaining all aspects of the timetable for staff and pupils
  • Developing the Academies’ MIS and ensure the accuracy, consistency, integrity and security of the Basildon Academies data
  • Providing reports for staff in a timely and accurate manner, including generating key reports for Senior Leadership Team and manage statutory reporting and census
  • Analysis of the school data, including public exam results and other performance data
  • Set up and manage systems for tracking the progress of pupils at each key stage
  • Oversee pupil admissions
  • To support all staff in their use of Academies management information systems providing technical support and training when necessary

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Education up to A Level, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills – equivalent to Level 2 in English & Maths
  • Excellent ICT skills, including databases, spreadsheets and relevant software
  • Ability to work on own initiative and resolve issues independently 
  • Ability to work under pressure, with effective time management and a flexible approach
