Last week, our Year 7 students met members of the school nursing team, Allan and Lauren, during a dedicated assembly focused on health and wellbeing.
The session reminded students that the nursing team are available support them with both their physical health and emotional wellbeing. They discussed a range of topics that can affect young people, including anxiety, friendship difficulties, coping strategies, physical changes and how these can impact mental health, as well as staying safe online.
Students were encouraged to remember that they always have someone they can talk to. The nursing team are available to listen and offer confidential support, and can signpost students to other members of the school or wider organisation where additional help may be available.
Students can also access the nursing team's drop-in service every Thursday at break and lunchtime in the Wellbeing area, with no appointment needed.
The team also spoke about Soluna, a health and wellbeing app providing access to further advice, information and support. More information about the app can be found below.
