Students learned about the wide range of career opportunities available, from engineering and technical roles to the Royal Marines, as well as the Navy’s strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and education.

In the practical workshops, students worked in teams using Meccano-style kits to build a freestanding transmission tower capable of restoring communications to a hurricane-hit island. The challenge tested their teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving before each tower was put to the test under “hurricane conditions.”

The sessions offered an exciting opportunity for students to develop real-world skills while linking to the school’s focus on STEM learning and personal development.

“I really enjoyed the workshop and assembly. The assembly was very informative and well presented. It showed the importance of the Navy. The workshop was great fun, especially the teamwork exercise.
